New AQHYA Region 5 Director

TRINITY PACKARD:

I would like to introduce myself as your newly elected Region 5 Director, my name is Trinity Packard, from Slatington, PA.

I was very interested in becoming an AQHYA Director and while attending the AQHYA YES Conference in July, I was approached by Katey Ralls from the Virginia QH Association.  She told me she wanted me to run for the Director position.

Every night before the elections was spent going over rules and regulations.  The other challenge was the speech, but with the help of Katey and Kylie Good, I felt confident.  The entire process was new to me, but I felt I was ready and would be able to handle whatever happens.

After I gave my speech, I felt I was ready to become a Director! An interview with the judges was next, which was my first interview ever, but again I felt confident with my presentation.  I had many supporters, but I could not have done it without Katey, she was by my side every second because she believed I could do it.

Becoming a part of the AQHYA Officer and Director team was an incredible experience. I was surrounded by a group of youth who share my passion for AQHYA.  Being a Director gives me the opportunity to meet new people and create countless friendships from all over the world.

This one trip to Texas changed my whole life, my dream was to be an AQHYA Director, and to have this dream come true at 14 years old, is more than I could have ever imagined.

I hope to inspire current and future members by reaching out to the equine communities, partnering and talking to state and local clubs through social media.

With all the support and help through this journey, I plan to “Make the Best Better”.  I will never forget the thrill at the World Show when it was announced that I was the Region 5 AQHYA Director. I am proud to introduce myself as your Region 5 Director with a great team to follow and to learn from.

“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you have imagined.”
