INTRODUCTION TO REINING CLINIC

 

The first of 2 NEW Clinics to be offered by NJQHA was held March 18 at Karl Bauer’s North Jersey Equestrian Center in Pompton Plains.

 

Participants were from near and far, experienced and novice, but everyone wanted to learn.

 

NRHA Professional Jeff Koenig, competitor and trainer was our clinician.  He explained reining maneuvers: circles, stops, turns, rollbacks and leads.

 

The day started with donuts and coffee. Next, on to the indoor arena for instructions and practice.  Lunch was on your own or pizza was offered.   The afternoon gave us more maneuvers to conquer.  Not an easy task, even for those with experience.  However, it gave all of us insight and the determination to practice and become a better rider.

 

By the end of the day, everyone was smiling and exhausted!
